THE UNDERSIGNED TAXPAYERS AND VOTERS OPPOSE WASSEL REALTY GROUP'S (SANDY HOOK PARTNERS) PROPOSAL TO THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOR THE LONG TERM (EST. 60 YEAR) LEASE OF PUBLIC LANDS AT FORT HANCOCK, SANDY HOOK, GATEWAY NATIONAL RECREATION AREA TO PRIVATE INVESTORS, SPECULATORS AND/OR INTERESTS. THE UNDERSIGNED TAXPAYERS & VOTERS PETITION OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TO:

provide duly noticed Public Hearings for all proposals to develop and/or for change of use at Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook/Gateway National Recreation Area prior to any/all approvals;
make available for public inspection all documents associated with all proposals to develop and/or for change of use at Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook, Gateway National Recreation Area prior to any/all approvals;
require independent, objective, impartial analysis including but not limited to Environmental Impact Statements and Traffic Studies for all proposals to develop and/or for change of use at Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook, Gateway Recreation Area prior to any/all approvals; and,
establish a taxpayers' / citizens' oversight commission to assure continued public participation for all proposals to develop and/or for change of use at Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook at Gateway National Recreation Area prior to any/all approvals.
